I believe I will need to come up with a new tagline. Instead of "The Eyes Have It" I think I need to tag my photography as "How I See It." Been struggling through the drama of my eyes getting worse over the last couple of months. It seems I am down to my last try at contact lenses. My rigid will not work anymore - breaking down my corneas. So, as of yesterday I am in soft contacts made specifically for keratoconus. The tests show that I can see as clearly as with my gas perms (which didn't set the world on fire) but my brain says that things just aren't as sharp. I said "my last try" but I learned also yesterday how it is possible to "piggy back" lenses - rigid lenses on top of soft lenses to protect the cornea. Hummmm. That really doesn't sound like much fun. If all this "trying" doesn't work, the next step is cornea transplant. Hummmmm. That really doesn't sound like much fun either.
So, what does all this "blah, blah, blah" have to do with my photography? Well, I'm thinking maybe I need to quit trying to make my photography so clear and crisp. Maybe mine needs to be more like watercolors. There has been a market out there for Monet, so why not for me? Creativity is what it's all about, after all.

Hey, who's to say Monet didn't have keratoconus? He just "bloomed where he was planted" which is a favorite saying of mine. I think I'll see where this takes me. Inspiration from Monet!!
